Located in Anacapri, Villa Alexa is an historic villa built in 1950, owned by the Princess Mafalda, the daughter of King Vittorio Emanuele III. The house is located on the road to Blu grotto at 3 km to the centre of Anacapri and even less to the Blu Grotto beach. This beautifully designed and charming house is in a quiet area of Capri and it has one of the most spectacular views of the Mediterranean Sea and the Island of Ischia. Prince Enrico d’Assia, who owned Mafalda until his death, loved to paint this extraordinary view. His nephew’s restoration of the villa has made it even more wonderful and it is now one of the most sought after on the island. Pretty walled gardens full of fragrant flowers and Mediterranean plants and olive trees surround the very large terrace, which has both shaded and sunny areas and several built in banquettes offering breathtaking views. Marbles, staues decorative urns and pots with citrus trees can be found on both levels. The circular pool is just off to the side of the house and is accessible to the master bedroom by an outdoor staircase. The lighting at night makes this property magical.

Tiled entry hall, which has a vaulted ceiling, a working fireplace and lovely antiques, small and very pretty formal living room with a sofa; newly renovated kitchen; indoor and outdoor dining areas. Bedroom with a double bed, air-conditioning, bathroom en suite with shower and a door opening to the garden; bedroom with twin beds (separated), air-conditioning and a bathroom with a tub; bedroom with twin beds (separated) and bathroom en suite with a shower.
Upper Floor. Master bedroom with a double bed, air-conditioning, bathroom with a tub and views of the sea and the garden. Sitting room with air-conditioning, the same views opening onto a terrace with a staircase to the ground level.
Location
Luxuriant, extraordinary, and such a mild climate, Capri is a Mediterranean island of calcareous origin that has been visited over the centuries by intellectuals, artists and writers, all enthralled by its magical beauty. A mix of history, nature, worldliness, culture and events that daily blend together and bring the Legend of Capri to life; a legend that sees no comparison anywhere in the world. It is located seventeen nautical miles south of Naples and 3 from Sorrento peninsula. This small island is about 6 km long and from 1.2 to 2.8 km. wide. It covers a area of about 10 square km. Mount Tiberio (334 m.) to the east and Mount Solaro (589 m.) to the west are the island’s two main massifs, between which we find the small town of Capri (138 m.) stradding Marina Grande (to the north) and Marina Piccola (to the south). The other inhabited centre, Anacapri (286 m.), is located in a large verdant plain to the west of Mount Solaro.
Notes: behind the kitchen is a small bedroom with a single bed and bathroom en suite with a tub. It is suitable for a nanny or teenager.
