Location and Surrounding Area. Positano has been home to intellectuals, artists and the international elite, who have wandered up and down the picturesque labyrinth of stone steps and pastel-coloured houses for centuries. Positano today offers sophisticated shopping, charming restaurants, breathtaking views, several glamorous beaches and lemons in every shape and form! Meandering through the arches and passageways, you can find local shoemakers who will make you a pair of customized sandals and the majolica-tiled dome of the Collegiate Church of Santa Assunta can be seen from almost every corner of the town.
Just off the shore of Positano are three tiny islands, Li Galli or as the locals call them, Le Sireneuse. Legend has it that they were once inhabited by Parthenope and other enticing sirens who seduced passing sailors with their song. The world-famous ballet dancer, Rudolf Nureyev purchased the islands and spent the last years of his life here.
Getting There: The villa is in the centre of the village of Positano, 63 km from Naples International airport, 44 km from the provincial capital of Salerno, 18 km from Amalfi and a further 5 km from Ravello. Positano can also be reached by boat from Salerno.
The Property. Villa Positano View was built in 1906 by the Marquis Nino Marciano and was one of the first art galleries in Positano. To this day, the villa houses paintings and poetry from that period. Recently renovated by its current owners, Villa Positano View is a perfect blend of history, art and technology. The property is in the centre of Positano, close to the restaurants, shops and bars. The main beach of Positano and the Santa Maria Assunta church are at a distance of less than 550 m. The villa includes a private garage (with room for six small cars or medium/large cars), which is accessible from the main street and equipped with a private elevator leading to the different floors of the property. There are also 10 steps leading up to the villa from the main street. It is one of the few villas on the Amalfi Coast that can be accessed without having to climb too many steps!
The Villa is ideal for large families or friends who want to spend time together whilst enjoying their own privacy at the same time. Covering an indoor surface area of 360 m2 and an outdoor area of 440 m2, Villa Positano View is a three-story property with plentiful private terraces, a stylish swimming pool with jacuzzi and breathtaking views over "Punta Reginella". The present owners have recently installed an extra heated outdoor tub for innovative “wine-therapy”, anti-oxidant treatments using the active substances contained in wine and grapes. These treatments include grape-seed scrubs, massages and wine-tasting!
The owners have also recently installed another new bathroom in the house with features for enjoying the benefits of chromotherapy and aromatherapy.
The swimming pool measures 6.20 m x 4 m and is between 0.30 m and 1.60 m deep. The interior boasts a chromatic feature that changes colour according to the depth of the water and the position of the sun. The floodlit jacuzzi area includes six seats with jets for back massages and a drop-down water feature. The pool is open from April to early November.
The 200 m2 terrace around the swimming pool is equipped with a large table and seating for 12 guests, various benches, sun beds and umbrellas. From the terrace, there are stunning views over the sea and Positano. The terrace and swimming pool can be accessed directly from each floor of the villa.
Ground Floor. Two double bedrooms, each with a double bed, air conditioning and heating, access to a private balcony equipped with table and chairs and stunning views of the sea and Positano. Three bathrooms, the first with shower, WC, bidet and sink and the second and third with a hydro-massage shower, WC, bidet and sink. All are accessible from the hallway. The third bedroom has a double bed, air conditioning and heating and can be reached from the living room. The fourth bedroom has two twin beds, air conditioning and heating and can be reached from the hallway.
There are two kitchens, each equipped with a gas cooker, electric oven, refrigerator with freezer, coffee machine, kettle, toaster and other small appliances, a table and four chairs. Accessible directly from the living room. One kitchen leads onto a 20 m2 terrace. Two bright, spacious living rooms with furnishings including sofas and, in one, a pool table. The living rooms each open out onto private terraces, one is approx. 35 m2 and covered with transparent glass panels, the other is 70 m2. This floor also includes a large, well-equipped gym. There is a fourth bathroom with shower, WC, bidet and sink next to the gym.
The First Floor offers a large, airy living room with furnishings include a sofa, table and chairs and access to the main terrace with the swimming pool. There is a kitchen equipped with a gas cooker, electric oven, refrigerator with freezer, coffee machine, kettle, toaster, other small appliances and a table with four chairs. This kitchen also has direct access to the main terrace with the swimming pool. There is also a fifth bathroom with shower, WC, bidet and sink.
The Second Floor houses the fifth and sixth bedrooms, each with a double bed, air conditioning and heating. They have access to a shared terrace with stunning views of the sea and Positano. In the hallway there is a sixth bathroom with shower, WC, bidet and sink.
